The 16th International Symposium on Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics (ISEM) will take place from July 31 August 2, 2013 at the University Laval in Quebec, Canada. Previous symposia were held in Italy, Japan, Korea, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, Austria, USA and China. As in the past, the 2013 meeting will be focused on the application of electromagnetics and mechanics in a number of disciplines. Specifically, the symposium provides a forum for exchanging ideas and discussing recent developments in such areas as:
The symposium emphasizes both basic science and early engineering developments in these interdisciplinary fields. The symposium also strongly encourages practical application of emerging technologies to problems of direct relevance to industries. Consequently, both theoretical as well as applied research topics are of interest.
The symposium will include both oral and poster sessions. As in the past, a number of prominent experts will be giving keynote lectures on areas of emerging interest.
Prospective authors should submit their two-page abstracts electronically in either PDF or DOC format. Detailed instructions for paper submission are available on the Manuscript Submission page.
The two-page abstracts will undergo a peer-review process. The accepted contributions will be included in the Symposium Proceedings. Authors of accepted two-page abstracts will be solicited to submit the 6 pages full version that, after a peer-review process, will be published in a special issue of the International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics.
It is intended to hold a small exhibition site at the conference.
Interestingly, the VIIth edition of the International Workshop on Advances Signal Processing for NonDestructive Evaluation (IWASPNDE, Quebec Workshop) will also take place as a simultaneous joint event.
