Instructions for papers and abstracts

 

All abstracts and  papers must be written and presented in English, which is the official language of the conference. The papers and abstracts are to be submitted along the signed Copyright transfer sheet. Please hand-in your copyright sheet at the registration desk.

Two-page abstracts

 

The two-page abstracts will be bounded in a B&W conference volume to be distributed to all participants at the beginning of the conference. The manuscript should be written according to the instructions for authors provided below. Authors are requested to provide only electronic version of their camera-ready papers in electronic format only attached to an e-mail addressed to quebec@gel.ulaval.ca.

Full length papers (Maximum: 6 pages) 

 

All the authors (from oral and poster contributions) are invited to submit their conference paper for the beginning of the conference (in electronic format only attached to an e-mail addressed to quebec@gel.ulaval.ca). The conference paper is limited to 6 pages MAXIMUM including figures and references (over the limit of 6 pages, page charges of 600 $CAD per page will apply and will be charged to authors). The papers received after the afore mentioned date will not be considered for the journal.

For that purpose, authors are required to submit two documents:

  • a camera-ready (either pdf or MS Word document) not larger than six-pages (click here to download the Camera-Ready example). Latex files are also available, see file1 and file 2. Either format is good since this document is only for review purposes.
  • a non type-set (double spaced) document according to the IOS Press requirements for the International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics available at the link below. This document will be use in the type set process, for those accepted papers only. http://www.iospress.nl/html/13835416_ita.html

 

 

 Important: Only accepted papers will appear in the ISEM Journal.

 

 

 

 

IWASPNDE Session

 

For the IWASPNDE session only, all provided camera-ready papers will be included in a proceedings volume available online, after the event. Additionnaly, a printed book will be available for purchase. Authors are invited to submit their paper for the beginning of the conference (in electronic format only attached to an e-mail addressed to quebec@gel.ulaval.ca). The conference paper is limited to 6 pages MAXIMUM including figures and references.

Instructions for oral and poster presentations
 

Oral Presentations

Duration

The time available for the presentation and discussion of every paper is about 20 minutes; session chairs will take care that the schedule is followed.

Equipment

Speakers at the conference will have access to a video beamer that can be connected either to the room stationary PC (PowerPoint, Acrobat Reader) or their own laptop. If you need a traditional overhead projector, please inform the secretariat as soon as possible and no later than 5 June 2013.

Note that Macintosh type computer will not be provided by organizers.

Additional Tips

The use of the conference room PC is strongly encouraged. Speakers are kindly requested to load and test their presentations on the room PC during the break times.
In order to quickly start presentations, speakers preferring their own laptop computers are kindly requested to boot them and start the presentation program before the announcement of their papers.

 

Poster Presentations

A formal poster presentation will take place in a dedicated session, when the presenters will be kindly requested to stand by their posters.

Format

One panel (useful area: width 130 cm, height 200 cm from the floor) will be available for each poster along with pasting chips (please do not use push pins).

Time

 in order to increase the display time, poster presenters are encouraged to put their posters on display as soon as possible and to remove the posters from the panels at the end of their respective poster session.
